The short version

Data engineer by title, builder by habit.

I'm a data engineer based in Chicago. Most of my work lives in the unglamorous middle of a project — the place where data is messy, processes are manual, and nobody's quite sure if the numbers are right. I build the pipelines, ETL, and tooling that make that part dependable, so the people downstream can actually trust what they're looking at.

At Gibson Consulting I lead data engineering for implementation projects, where the goal is usually the same: replace slow, manual work with automation that holds up in production. I've built pipelines that automate large-scale supplier processing, ETL that feeds multi-client reporting dashboards, and the internal tools that take the friction out of day-to-day workflows.

I also build the web apps that sit on top of the data — internal tools and client-facing workflows in Next.js and FastAPI — and I tinker constantly outside of work, mostly on developer tools and AI projects you'll find below. I like clean systems, fast feedback loops, and shipping things that quietly do their job.
